SYMPTOMS OF HEART BLOCKAGES IN FEMALES.

SYMPTOMS OF HEART BLOCKAGES IN FEMALES.

Heart blockages in females can manifest through a variety of signs and symptoms, which may sometimes be subtle or atypical compared to those experienced by men. Recognizing these symptoms is crucial for timely intervention and management.

Common symptoms include:

  • Chest pain (angina) When the heart does not get enough oxygen due to blocked coronary arteries, a woman may experience chest pain, pressure, or tightness, usually in the middle or left side of the chest.

  • Pain in other areas Discomfort might extend to the arms, shoulder, jaw, or neck, potentially signaling a heart attack due to a severely blocked coronary artery. Some women describe upper back pressure that feels like squeezing.

  • Shortness of breath This can occur with or without chest discomfort.

  • Fatigue Unusual tiredness and weakness can be indicative of heart issues. Ongoing feelings of weakness can prevent you from doing your normal tasks.

  • Sweating This may present as a sudden onset of cold sweats.

  • Lightheadedness/dizziness Feeling lightheaded or dizzy may point to a problem with the heart's blood supply.

  • Nausea or vomiting Some women may experience nausea or vomiting.

  • Anxiety Some women may experience anxiety.

  • Heartburn/Indigestion Heartburn-like symptoms can also occur.

It's important to note that symptoms can be intermittent and may not always be easily recognized. Some individuals might not experience any symptoms, while others have mild to severe ones, which can intensify as the condition progresses. Women are also more likely than men to experience chest pain during rest or daily activities, rather than during exercise. They're also more likely than men to feel chest pain from mental stress. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek immediate medical attention.

CHHATRAPTI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ JAYANTI

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti, also known as Shiv Jayanti, is a festival and public holiday in Maharashtra, India, celebrated on February 19. The day commemorates the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the Maratha Empire. In 2025, Shivaji Jayanti falls on Wednesday, February 19, marking his 395th birth anniversary.

Shivaji Maharaj, born Shivaji Bhosale (1630–1680 C.E.), was a warrior king admired for his leadership, military skills, and advocacy for Swarajya (self-rule). His efforts to free India from foreign rule and his emphasis on good governance have made him a national hero.

Observed primarily in Maharashtra, Shivaji Jayanti is celebrated with processions, cultural events, and discussions about Shivaji's legacy. Schools and institutions often organize plays and speeches to honor his contributions. Public transportation, hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and emergency services remain open, while government offices and banks are closed.

The celebration of Shivaji Jayanti began in 1870 after the discovery of his tomb at Raigad Fort. Freedom fighter Bal Gangadhar Tilak further elaborated on it to bring Shivaji Maharaj’s contributions to public consciousness during India’s struggle for independence.

Although February 19 is widely accepted as the official date, some celebrate Shiv Jayanti according to the Hindu calendar. According to the Gregorian calendar, the birth date of Shivaji Maharaj is February 19, while according to the Hindu Calendar, Shivaji was born on the 3rd day of Phalgun.

1st FRIDAY OF FEB WOMEN HEART HEALTH.

The first Friday of February is recognized as **National Wear Red Day**, an initiative aimed at raising awareness about women's heart health. In 2025, this day will fall on **February 2**. The campaign encourages individuals to wear red to symbolize support for the fight against heart disease, which is the leading cause of death among women in the United States, accounting for 1 in 3 female deaths each year.

Importance of National Wear Red Day

- Awareness: The day serves to educate women about their risk factors for heart disease and the importance of prevention. Many women are unaware that heart disease is their number one health threat, often due to historical biases in medical research that have focused predominantly on men.

- Empowerment: The **Go Red for Women** movement, launched in 2004 by the American Heart Association, empowers women to take charge of their heart health through education and lifestyle changes. It emphasizes that up to 80% of cardiovascular events can be prevented with proper awareness and management of risk factors.

Key Messages for Women's Heart Health

1. Know Your Numbers: Regular check-ups to monitor blood pressure and cholesterol levels are crucial.

2.Lifestyle Choices: Adopting a heart-healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins while minimizing saturated fats can significantly reduce risks.

3. Physical Activity: Engaging in regular exercise—at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week—is recommended to maintain cardiovascular health.

4. Avoid Smoking: Smoking is a major risk factor for heart disease; quitting can greatly improve heart health outcomes.

5. Stress Management: Managing stress through mindfulness and ensuring adequate sleep (7-9 hours) is vital for overall health.

Conclusion

National Wear Red Day not only raises awareness but also encourages women to engage in proactive measures regarding their heart health. By participating on February 2nd, individuals contribute to a larger movement advocating for women's cardiovascular health and the importance of recognizing and addressing this critical issue.
